Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification required
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Master’s or Integrated Master’s in Natural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, MSc, or Animal Sciences
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized university
- Equivalent qualifications recognized by the competent authority
Preferred Specialization:
- Master’s in Organic Chemistry or General Chemistry
- Research experience in Organic/Total Synthesis from a reputed institute or industry is desirable
Age Limit:
- Maximum: 35 years
- Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PWD/Women; 3 years for OBC candidates

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct multi-step organic synthesis on scales ranging from small to large
- Work on synthesis optimization related to the project’s goal of developing treatments for sickle cell anemia
Salary Structure
- ₹31,000 + HRA: For candidates with CSIR-UGC NET / ICAR / ICMR qualification, GATE, or national-level exam qualification from agencies like DBT/DST
- ₹25,000 + HRA: For candidates without the above qualifications
Tenure & Conditions
- Initial appointment: 6 months (may be extended based on project duration and performance)
- The post is purely temporary and does not guarantee a regular position at CSIR-NCL
